Porto from Strasbourg
Known primarily for the sweet wine of the same name produced in the region, Porto has a wealth of architectural treasures and a picturesque old town that makes it an endearing city, clinging to the steep Douro Valley. This city, located in the north of Portugal, has everything to seduce you !
A small town that can be explored on foot, to enjoy its charming little streets full of history and nostalgia, but it can also be discovered on board its historic yellow trams. Start to get to know the city through its historic district, Ribeira, and its Port wine cellars, where you can taste the best wines of the whole city, accompanied by cod, the national dish, prepared in many ways. But also the “natas”, small cakes with cream. Or the “francesinhas”, a kind of croque-monsieur with a lot of filling and served with sauce… Have fun going to the Lello bookshop, known for having inspired J.K. Rolling for his Harry Potter novel. If you want a rich nightlife and plenty of shopping, then head to Boasvista. This is the new town and you will easily find accommodation close to everything.
